April’s retrospective

April was hard. A lot of times I felt I was surviving, not living.

There were a few trialing events

Relationship with my new manager was quite challenging. He was far from supportive.

Facility lady asked me to remove nice personal things from my desk, including flowers, to adhere to company’s “70% free desk space” policy. I cried so hard afterwards.

I fought for gym membership fees. Maybe I had become a Karen, but I want money back for the services I don’t use.

Each Saturday morning we regularly had fights with my boyfriend.

I bought myself a composter to deal with food waste. But it was hard try to find out what to do with produced soil while living in the flat (sometimes stuff very smelly).

Supportive and nice stuff happened too

Walking to work through Embankment gardens

When I wake up early to go to work, I could exit at Westminster and spend an hour going to Bank station by foot. I got to see Embankment gardens in the full bloom.

Painting in Art club

I’ve joined a Russian-speaking sketching club and tried my hand in doing on-spot sketches. I got through quite a few iterations, trying to portray beauty of Embankment gardens.

Meeting Abi after work

Once I met Abi after work and we had a nice walk along the river.

Painting the eggs for Easter

I like to do something nice for holidays, and this Easter I tried to die eggs naturally. It was a fun project to do together with my boyfriend.

Visiting tulip fields with Abi and Christos

Fake tulip fields in UK!

Walking in Ravenscourt park and neighborhood

I have seen a lot of baby birds in the Ravenscourt park!

Going to Meladze’s concert and dancing and singing there

I really wanted to go crazy at Meladze concert. The audience was filled with russian-speaking women in Albert Hall, that was an interesting place to be in London.

Сам себе кричал: ухожу навсегда! И непонятно как доживал до утра. Салют, Вера!

Going to Ed’s birthday

Ed’s been so kind to invite me and Simao to his birthday!

Without photos

I participated in 2 big BOB events for Thames21 charity.

Finally finished a challenging release at work.

Did a pedicure so I get to look at nicer nails at yoga.

Talk to my sister and cleared up difficult communication.

Went to art therapy meeting.

Bought myself an amethyst key chain and a roman coin.

Tried out Ravenscourt park bouldering.

Key Takeaways

Listing all this things down helped me understand that when times are hard, we need to support ourselves the best we can.

And good events live alongside the bad one, just somehow happens that you remember bad events so much better.
